The newly established parliamentary group Rozwój Plus, led by former Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, has affirmed its dedication to conservative principles following its separation from the Law and Justice (PiS) party. During a statement made after the group was officially registered in parliament, member Łukasz Schreiber emphasized that the bloc would stay true to its voters and values, steering clear of personal criticism against PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński.
Rozwój Plus, which consists of 40 MPs and one senator, aims to provide a political platform while maintaining the policy and research initiatives of the Rozwój Plus association. Morawiecki outlined the group’s intentions to prioritize significant issues affecting the nation, such as healthcare, fuel prices, and government accountability, rather than becoming embroiled in internal conflicts.
Jarosław Kaczyński, the leader of the PiS party, expressed his thoughts on the division, describing it as anticipated yet regrettable. He noted that the development comes at a challenging period for Poland, implying potential implications for the country’s political landscape.
Members of Rozwój Plus reiterated their commitment to addressing pressing national concerns over engaging in disputes with their former party. The focus will be on fostering solutions that benefit the Polish populace, underscoring their resolve to remain steadfast in their conservative ideology.
