As India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) zeroes in on a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) module for the Delhi attack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pledged his country’s full solidarity. In a message to PM Modi, Netanyahu mourned the eight lives lost.
“Israel stands strong with you in sorrow and in strength,” Netanyahu declared. He and his wife, Sara, sent their “deepest condolences” to the families affected by the tragedy, calling the Indian people “brave.”
The Israeli leader’s message was defiant, stating that the “unyielding spirit” of both nations would prevail. “Terror may strike our cities, but it will never shake our souls,” he said. He praised the “shared values” of the two “ancient civilisations.”
The investigation was formally handed to the NIA by the Ministry of Home Affairs due to the clear terror angle. The NIA has registered a case and its team is working to trace the network responsible for the blast near the Red Fort.
Israel’s Foreign Minister, Gideon Saar, also reinforced the message. He offered condolences for the “innocent victims” and stated, “Israel stands with India in its fight against terror,” wishing a “speedy recovery to the wounded.”
