Polish President Karol Nawrocki has embarked on a significant three-day visit to the Philippines, aimed at enhancing the political, economic, and technological connections between Poland and the Philippines. Accompanied by First Lady Marta Nawrocka, President Nawrocki’s itinerary includes key meetings and events designed to foster bilateral relations.
A central highlight of the visit is President Nawrocki’s meeting with Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. The discussions are set to focus on potential areas of cooperation and ways to strengthen the relationship between the two nations. These high-level talks will cover various aspects of mutual interest and collaboration.
In addition to political discussions, President Nawrocki will participate in the opening of the 5th Polish-Philippine IT Business Summit. This event will serve as a platform for promoting technological partnerships and innovation. Furthermore, Nawrocki is scheduled to meet with participants of a Polish-Philippine hackathon, emphasizing the importance of tech-driven initiatives in the bilateral agenda.
Economic ties are also a key focus, with President Nawrocki set to engage with representatives from businesses in both countries. These interactions aim to identify and explore opportunities for more robust economic cooperation, potentially leading to increased trade and investment between Poland and the Philippines.
During his visit, President Nawrocki will also take the opportunity to connect with the academic community by addressing students at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila. Additionally, he will meet with members of the Polish community and individuals who contribute to strengthening Polish-Philippine relations.
The final day of President Nawrocki’s visit includes a visit to the Col. Jesus Villamor Air Base. This site is significant as it houses Black Hawk helicopters manufactured by Poland’s PZL Mielec, which have been acquired by the Philippine Air Force, symbolizing the defense cooperation between the two countries.
