In a bid to strengthen bilateral ties, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk is set to visit Việt Nam from October 24 to 26. This visit, at the invitation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng, aims to bolster cooperation in areas such as trade, education, science, culture, and political relations.
Việt Nam and Poland have shared diplomatic relations since February 4, 1950, marking a partnership that will celebrate its 75th anniversary in 2025. Over the years, this relationship has flourished through diplomatic dialogue and collaborations in economic, educational, and cultural domains. The upcoming visit by Prime Minister Tusk follows a notable trip by former Vietnamese Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính to Poland in January 2025, during which both nations committed to elevating their bilateral relationship to a strategic partnership.
Economic collaboration remains a cornerstone of the Việt Nam-Poland relationship, with bilateral trade reaching approximately $3.94 billion in 2025, a 14.8% increase from the previous year. Việt Nam’s primary exports to Poland include electronics, machinery, garments, footwear, coffee, and other agricultural products, while Poland exports machinery, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and food products to Việt Nam.
Tusk’s visit is expected to provide a platform for exploring further economic opportunities and enhancing cooperation in key sectors. Both countries are keen on expanding their commercial ties and collaboration in education, scientific research, and cultural exchanges.
This visit underscores the ongoing efforts by Việt Nam and Poland to deepen their longstanding relationship and further their shared economic and diplomatic interests. As both countries look toward future collaborations, the visit highlights their commitment to sustaining and growing a robust partnership.
