A clear divide exists in Western perceptions of the Ukraine war, according to Russian Ambassador Denis Alipov: Donald Trump “understands” the reality, while Europe clings to “childish” hope.
Alipov claimed the former US president “understands that this war is lost by Ukraine and the West.”
He contrasted this with European leaders, whom he accused of “craziness” and “unprofessional” behavior for believing Russia can be defeated. “There is no chance,” he added.
The ambassador based his assessment on Russia’s nuclear deterrent. “You can’t… take over us in this conflict simply because of our nuclear weapons,” he said.
He reinforced this by citing Russia’s official doctrine, which permits nuclear use if the state’s existence is threatened, a warning delivered as the war rages on.
